More about our
Lovely Care Packs
Pink Pamper Packs
The Pink Pamper Packs (PPP) are the foundation of our centre. This is where it all started in 2008.
The PPP are beautifully presented gift packs designed to bring joy and put a smile on the face of a woman struggling through a difficult time and in need of pampering. It is a combination of beauty products, candles, soaps, chocolates and other items. Each pack is individually created and the contents may vary from pack to pack. It is a lovely way to show someone that they are being thought of and a way to brighten their day.
The reasons women are nominated to receive a PPP are many. This could include being a new mother, women suffering illness, isolation or marital problems, a woman in need of thanks who does so much for others, or just simply women in need of something special during difficult times in their lives.
If you would like to nominate a woman in the Redlands for one of our Pink Pamper Packs, then please click the button below and fill in the provided form. Our coordinator Mirella will organise your Pamper Pack.
In 2014, the Nurture Pack project began and was seed funded through a grant from Redland City Council.
The Nurture Packs are delivered to every mum who gives birth to a baby at the Redlands Hospital. The packs are a beautiful care package for both mums and bubs and include pampering for new mums along with some gentle items for the baby. The Nurture Packs also include local information of support services to assist the women.
The Nurture Packs are given to the 120+ mums who give birth at the Redland Hospital every month. By connecting mothers with our Centre and volunteers, we hope to reduce the health and social isolation impacts faced by new mothers and promote positive infant and maternal health in our community.
We makeup about 32 nurture packs per week and deliver these to the Maternity ward at Redlands Hospital.
Depending on which items we have been donated by our wonderful volunteer ladies and our great sponsors our packs include a variety of items*:
- Sewing items e.g. nappy holder
- Knitted items e.g. teddies, toys, beanies & bootees
- Pocket tissues and wipes
- Creams and oils
- Bao Bags
- Booklets and pamphlets from our sponsors
- Affirmation card
* Contents can vary from pack to pack.
Our main sponsors towards our group are;
Eczema Association of Australia, Redlands Window Cleaning, Kids Alive, Bao Bags and Harvey Norman.
If you wish to help with donations, we are always in need of
- Nursery cotton fabric and flannelette
- 8 Ply Neutral Baby Wool
- Knitters and Sewers
The Nurture Pack ladies meet at the RCW Cottage every Wednesday from 9 am to approximately 10.30 am
