Diamond Painting

Diamond Painting is an interesting new hobby, which is a combination of cross-stitch and paint by numbers. It is a therapeutic and enjoyable craft and very easy to learn, even if you are not creative at all.

In diamond painting, you stick tiny resin ‘diamonds’, in a predefined pattern on an adhesive DMC-coded canvas to form a shiny and vibrant crystal painting. It is a great way to unwind and relax and the best thing is we are still able to have a chat and a laugh.

The Diamond Painting evenings are run at the RCW Cottage on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month from 6pm to 9 pm and are facilitated by our diamond painting coordinator Debbie.

Coffee and tea are available for a gold coin donation. You are also welcome to bring your own drinks and snacks.

We have light pads available for you to use which light up the canvas so that you can see the symbols clearer. You are welcome to bring your own diamond painting kit along to work on or you can purchase a kit from us; price starting at $5.

Cost to attend is $5 for members and $10 for non-members. Booking is essential.

To participate in Diamond Painting you need to be a financial member of the Redlands Centre for Women. Membership is $45.00 per year and you can join here.  You are welcome to participate as a non-member the first time to see if it is something you would like to be part of.

Social Craft Group

Unfortunately, due to the current COVID-19 restrictions, the social craft group is not open to new participants at this moment in time. This group is very popular with longstanding members and as the number of ladies that are allowed to attend at the cottage at any one time is very limited we have sadly had to make this decision. This will be revised as restrictions are eased.

This is a fun-loving social group where we enjoy plenty of laughs, various creative activities and a cup of tea or coffee.

You do not have to be crafty to come along as we endeavour to have activities that everyone can attempt and we have lovely ladies to help you. Our activities vary from week to week. Some days we are introduced to new craft ideas, sometimes members bring in their own craft from home, other times we get involved in community projects and ongoing group projects.

The craft mornings are run on most Thursdays at the RCW Cottage from 9am to 12noon. Last Thursday of the month is purely a social get-together where we meet for a cuppa either at the RCW Cottage or at a local café. Our craft coordinators are Wendy and Yolande.

Coffee and tea are available at the RCW Cottage for a gold coin donation. You are also welcome to bring your own drinks and snacks.

Cost to attend, which includes the needed materials, is $5 for members and $10 for non-members. Booking is essential.
