Introducing

Redlands Active Women

Visit the Outdoors

If you enjoy being outdoors, discovering new places, and being active with like-minded women, then RAW is for you. It is a great way to connect with and meet new friends, be physically active and participate in some fun events.

During the year, we aim to visit a range of outdoor venues throughout the Redlands, such as beautiful or interesting neighbourhoods, National Parks, Stradbroke Island and more. We are always looking for new areas to explore. The RAW walk takes place on the 1st Saturday of the month.

Walks are around 5km long and take about an hour. Afterwards, we go to a local café for a well-earned cuppa or some ladies also choose to enjoy breakfast. We start at 8 am in the colder months and at 7am during the warmer months

A Walk with a Twist

We also have a mid-month activity, which takes place on the 3rd weekend of the month. Depending on what we are doing, will determine the day we choose (Saturday or Sunday). Our RAW assistant coordinator Janice runs these activities.

The mid-month activity is considered “A walk with a twist”. We plan to include unique activities like visit outdoor funky art displays, local markets with handmade items, painting your own artwork, canoeing or kayaking in the Redlands, visiting the butterfly enclosure at Redcliffe, or Op shop tours  to name a few. Bring along a few extra dollars as we always end our day out with a refreshment at a cafe close to the location.

Monday Sunset Walk

Every Monday during the summer months (Christmas period excluded), come along and join us for a walk at Wellington Point.

We meet outside the Point of View Restaurant and Café, 1 Main Road, Wellington Point. Come at 4.50pm so we can start our walk promptly at 5pm. On these walks, we enjoy either a relaxing walk out to King Island (tide permitted) or the bush track on the Eastern side of the foreshore.
